Larry, Just want you to know that my team and I have received many packages
from the Minnesota/Dakotas District Kiwanis International. I think I had at least 10
packages and I know that 2 more showed up today.
I arrived here in Baghdad this morning around 130am and finally hit the sack around
300am.
Again want to thank you and all the Kiwanis for the support that they have provided to
my team during the past year. It has been very heartwarming experience.

Dear Mrs. Fisher,
I am writing this letter to thank you for all the items you and the KIWANIS CLUB sent
to me and to the Soldiers of my Company that are currently deployed in Iraq. I apologize
for taking too long.
It was a wonderful surprise to receive more than 30 boxes of mail in the same day, and
it was very nice when my fellow Soldiers and I started opening the boxes, you should have
seen the happy, excited faces of all of us like little kids opening Christmas presents.
Your packages are always a welcome sight and they do a lot to make us feel a
little closer to home.
Again, thank you so much. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
Best Regards,

Dear Mr. Klair,
Thank you so much for the care packages. The soldiers in my battalion enjoyed all of
the goodies. Your more than generous contribution has brought smiles to many
soldiers faces. It is truly these acts of kindness that the soldiers will always
remember as they never go unnoticed. Often we think the world has forgotten about us over
here, but your show of support to the young soldiers reminds us that America still
supports us. Thank you again.

SUBJECT: Support our Troops (Minnesota/Dakotas District of Kiwanis International)
ATTN: Bruce D. Klair
It is with great pleasure that I write this thank you letter to Minnesota/Dakotas
Kiwanis volunteers for supporting the troops.
Thank you so much for the wonderful gifts for my Soldiers. The toiletries were
especially a hit! But I must say the Jerky and the other snacks were eaten fast. To give
you an idea of what kind of soldiers (Troops) you sent these gifts to: I am the Commanding
Officer for a Brigade Support Medical Company; I run a Level II Trauma center responsible
for all facets of medical support for 7,000 Soldiers. My Troops are all medical personnel,
either EMT certified or actual medical Physicians. We are the team that sustains our brave
men and women after they leave the scene, we are the Troops that see the initial injuries
and sustain life in order to evacuate to a higher echelon of care. There are many days
that soldiers wonder if people back home really care about what we are doing over here;
Thank you for setting our hearts at ease and thank you again for everything YOU DO for us.
I am not sure how you got my name as a point of contact for this but my Soldiers and I
truly appreciate it.
God Bless you and everything you do for our country.

(This is a project that clubs can do as community project. Many clubs have members who
have a personal contact in the military, and "care" packages can be sent to
them, with the assurance that any supplies will be distributed among their fellow troops.
