Thank you Jane Dolter!
Thank you, Jane, for your invaluable leadership as our President
for 2005 - 2006 year. Without you we couldn't have strived to fulfill the
Kiwanis purpose of serving the children of the world.
And for that we thank you!

Kiwanis is about service to our community and our youth. Our committee structure is set up to provide opportunities for our members to serve and make a difference. Our committee chairs and board work to establish goals and objectives for the coming year. Please welcome our new Committee members, Board members and New President, Don Lilyquist for the 2007 to 2008 year. We encourage you to get involved. Let us know if you are interested in serving on a committee.

Update from Dennis Anderson

The Knee replacement surgery went well.   I'm now four weeks into mending, and I've been able to put the walker and crutches aside, just using a cane for now.  I'll be working two weeks of anchoring just the 6 o'clock news before returning to a full day on the job.
Anyone who's had knee replacement knows how important physical therapy is.  I've had my leg in a bending-machine four hours a day at home, plus my wife has been helping with another hour of P-T each day, and three days a weeks I've been in physical therapy at SMDC-Hermantown.
I've been so tired, I've actually been going to bed at 8:45 each night.  As I said, all the P-T seems to be working, and I've come a long way since the operation.
                    It sure beats the arthritis!

         All the best...  Dennis Anderson

Jan web.jpeg.jpg (30104 bytes)Dear Duluth Kiwanians,

It was great spending time with you this summer at the Wednesday noon meetings. Time has gone so quickly and it's already time to head south for the Fall/Winter/Spring in Punta Gorda, FL. If any of you are in Punta Gorda, give me a call. Especially if you're there Thursday at noon--I'll take you to my Punta Gorda Kiwanis meeting. You'll be amazed at how similar the tone of the Punta Gorda club is to the Duluth club.
                 Warm regards,
Jan Nelson

FOOD DRIVE
Just around the corner

Since 1993 our Kiwanis Club in concert with Rotary Club # 25 has made the holiday season a little better for many people in our communities.

I say a little better but when you consider that in 13 years we have
donated over 473,000 pounds of food and over $23,000.00, maybe little
is a bit of an understatement.

What can you do to help? Well we are always looking for creative ways
to raise funds for our shopping. We would like to have at least $2000.00
to spend. We will be coming to you directly, but if your company can
assist in any amount that would be spectacular.

Also, if you have any contacts in the bulk food industry, get in touch
with me. We can turn your contributions into an amazing amount of food
with our current contacts, but we are always looking for new possibilities.

More information will be coming at upcoming meetings.
