The New Year has brought much excitement to our club and with all of us pitching in it will grow and grow.

The party's over, the Celebration has just begun!

And a wonderful party it was.
But the committee for our 90th Anniversary says that there is much more to come throughout the year.

Saturday Feb 3rd, three of us are going to Brainerd to the Annual Region 3 Meeting, Carol has been asked to show the video history presentation that was shown during our Anniversary party
at the Kitch.

We have 3 new members soon to be installed and several more interested prospective members coming in the next few weeks.  The invitation cards that were
introduced several weeks ago, are working. If you need more Tricia has more of them… Just ask.

You have all seen our Web Site and Newsletter, and Tricia’s Blog, let us know how you like them? And if you would like to contribute any information to them... It will be greatly appreciated.

We are working hard to update our directory be patient, its coming soon.

126 smiling
little faces at
Chester Bowl

Sunday, Jan. 28  was a great day for downhill skiing!  Hardly any wind, cold enough to keep the snow crunchy but enough sun to warm your face.  And there were plenty of faces to warm – 126 smiling little faces to be exact who all came to participate in what has become THE big annual race at Duluth’s Chester Bowl Ski Hill.   What makes this race so special you may ask?  The Kiwanis Club of Friendly Duluth, that’s what!  For the last 37 years our club has donated the necessary funds to purchase real trophies for the Chester Bowl kids.  And because every child to race is a winner…every child got a trophy!  Smiles abounded!!  Kids raised their Kiwanis trophies high over their heads for their proud parents to snap a few shots for the family albums!

When Kiwanians, Keith Johnson and Darren Danielson took to the microphone to begin the awards ceremony, 126 children and all their parents and grandparents erupted with applause and gratitude for our club’s annual support of this great annual event!  Just one more of many ways our club tries to make the world a little better place, one child and one community at a time.

Congratulations
John Beyer!

April 21, 2007
Kiwanian's - Get all your contract supplies
from Tricia, lets make this year the best!!

Area business hope to donate over $55,000
in merchandise to help Kiwanis raise
money for our area youth!

For those of you who have been out of touch or possibly sleeping for all of 2007, THE 39TH ANNUAL KIWANIS TV AUCTION IS COMING. This year's event is scheduled for April 21st at the WDIO studios.

We have already distributed most of the contracts, but still have some left to hand out.
PLEASE get your contracts in early with a few reminders.

1) First Come First Server for prime time air spots

2)
Get as much information as you can about the product and the company. Your script writers will love you.

3)
TV is a visual medium. If you can not get the actual item to display on the air or it is a gift certificate, BE CREATIVE; Get a picture, a color brochure, a company sign, etc.

4)
Watch for details of a contract contest.

Our production costs this year are $20,000.00. We have begun the process of securing sponsors for the Auction. In addition to our 1 hour and 1/2 hour slots, we have brought back the best marketing deal west of the Lester River. For $100.00 an organization, company or individual will receive three (3), yes I said THREE, ten second spots during the broadcast of the Auction.

There is a lot of work to do and we need your help to make this a great event once again. If you have any suggestions, creative ideas or helpful advice, please contact one of the Co-Chairs Paul Manning or George Lah.
